Program Description

This course will draw on professional liability closed clam data and results from office site survey assessments to illustrate the top common liability risks in the office practice: communications, documentation, follow up, medication management, and privacy/confidentiality. The program will examine how systems failures arise and what physicians can do to prevent simple errors and oversights from developing into major injuries. 

Objectives

After completing this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Name the top five medical practice risks
  • Recognize communication barriers for patients
  • Explain strategies to properly disclose adverse events
