Controllable Risks in Medical Malpractice

Program Description

This course will draw on professional liability closed claim data and results from office site survey assessments to illustrate the top common liability risks in the office practice: communications, documentation, follow up, medication management, and privacy/confidentiality. The program will examine how systems failures arise and what physicians can do to prevent simple errors and oversights from developing into major injuries.

Providers will be able to identify risks associated with system failures related to communication, and documentation. The course will reveal how follow up can be better managed to sustain patient safety.
