Program Description
Teamwork leadership skills and communication are essential for providing quality care and for the prevention and mitigation of medical errors. Leading a medical teamwork improvement initiative can be accomplished using four skills encompassing communication, leadership, situation monitoring and mutual support. The interaction between these team skills and outcomes supports the delivery of safe, quality care by both providers and support staff. This seminar will provide an overview to improve collaboration and communication to transform your practice into a more effective team.
Objectives
After completing this activity, learners will be able to:
- Identify the impact of communication as a risk factor in healthcare safety and litigation.
- Recognize how communication techniques play an important role in highly functioning ambulatory practice teams.
- Describe three leadership techniques to enhance the effectiveness of your teams.
