Program Description
Gastroenterologists need insight into data from claims studies to improve patient care and avoid liability risks. Factors contributing to patient injury claims help identify actionable efforts for prevention. This data can assist gastroenterologists to identify strategies to make quality and safety improvements in their practice to positively affect patient outcomes.
Objectives
After completing this activity, learners will be able to:
- Identify the most frequent allegations related to care provided by gastroenterologists based on the analysis of malpractice claims.
- Recognize the most common types and causes of injuries to patients under the care of a gastroenterologist.
- Implement at least one or more strategies to enhance patient care, improve patient safety, and decrease the risk of a malpractice claim.
