Program Description

HIPAA TRAINING FOR SMALL PROVIDERS
Meet the regional team from The US Department of Health and Human Services/Office for Civil Rights as they present the Privacy, Security, and Breach Notification Rules with a special focus on small practices. Topics will include: Rights of individuals, administrative requirements, safeguards, minimum necessary Business Associate agreements, enforcement updates, risk analysis and risk management.

HIPAA: THE MORE THINGS CHANGE, THE MORE THEY STAY THE SAME
There are certain failures that are recurring themes when medical and dental practices are either investigated for a breach of patient confidentiality or are audited. Because most practices are deficient in their compliance programs, every practice needs to be mindful of these common failures and implement steps to address them.

RISKY PRACTICES: PREVENTING PATIENTS FROM FALLING THROUGH THE CRACKS
All medical and dental practices have risks which potentially compromise patient safety, and ultimately, patient well-being. Often overlooked by practice leadership, implementing these basic practices can promote better patient outcomes and reduce practice liability.

FROM PHYSICIAN TO FELON
Have you ever wondered EXACTLY how a criminal healthcare fraud case is discovered, how the government handles the investigation and prepares for trial, and what can happen at trial?  Learn what you, as a practice manager or employee, can do to minimize the risks that something similar will happen to your practice.
