Program Description

Attend this session to learn what the malpractice claims data shows as the most frequent types of claims, severity of losses, and related risk issues. Learn strategies to help you successfully overcome malpractice risks for physicians supervising nurse practitioners and physician assistants.

Objectives

After completing this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Identify actual liability risks related to physician supervision of nurse practitioners and physician assistants
  • Discuss reasons for the three frequent allegations in malpractice claims involving nurse practitioners and physician assistants
  • Assess their practice to identify at least one strategy that can potentially reduce risks for a physician supervising nurse practitioners and physician assistants
