Medical Director Risks in Post Acute Care

Program Description

Post-acute hospitalist medical directors must recognize their unique scope of practice risks and identify priorities for change in their role. This session will provide hospitalist medical directors with an opportunity to identify areas for potential focus, modification, and documentation of their role and participation in the post-acute facility. Reducing practice risks can reduce professional liability risks, improve business operations, and enhance patient care.  

Objectives

After completing this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Discuss the role of a medical director in post-acute care
  • Identify two high risk areas in the medical director's role
  • Describe two strategies to reduce risks for a post-acute medical director
