2018 Emergency Care by the Bay

Program Description

This 6.75-hour session is designed to educate and bring national awareness to physicians, midlevel providers, nurses, paramedics, and administrators regarding the state of emergency care, the future of emergency medicine, infectious diseases, disaster preparedness, and ethics. It is this cooperative manner we believe we can improve the emergency healthcare system for the entire county.

Objectives

After completing this activity, learners will be able to:

• Identify current throughput practices and obstacles among Emergency Departments.
• Explain management, technology and techniques for optimal care of trauma, critical care and emergency medicine-related issues.
• Illustrate the latest strategies and techniques for optimal care in the emergency care setting, including pediatrics, burn care, and disaster management
• Implement evidence-based methods of alternative opioid prescribing.
• Assess current mass trauma protocols for the Emergency Department, after the Las Vegas, NV shooting.
• Integrate measures designed to reduce infectious disease in the Emergency Departments.
