Physician Burnout Crisis in the Professional Setting

Program Description

Physician burnout has reached a tipping point, with studies showing that most physicians experience symptoms of professional burnout. Among the many causes: changing payment approaches, electronic documentation, and quality metric pressures. Physician well-being is of paramount importance to the delivery of high-quality, safe patient care. This seminar looks at efforts to solve the national physician burnout crisis and explores how those solutions apply to your practice.

Objectives

After completing this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Describe initiatives to address the crisis of physician professional burnout. 
  • Explain how the quality of care and patient safety are affected when a physician becomes disengaged.
  • Apply individual and practice strategies that can enhance resiliency and promote physician satisfaction and engagement.
