How to Avoid Documentation Landmines

Program Description

Physicians will benefit from an increased awareness and understanding of risks associated with EHR documentation. This program will provide information and guidance on best practice medical record documentation in specific areas. The session will also illustrate risks identified in malpractice litigation and during audits of office practice medical records. Strategies to reduce and avoid risks in documentation will be presented.

Objectives

After completing this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Discuss the rationale for accurate and complete EHR documentation in the medical record.
  • Recognize two areas of risk related to EHR and medical record documentation.
  • Assess two priority areas for documentation improvement in your current medical practice
