Own It: Physicians

Program Description

This interactive “real world” session focuses on the service techniques and language used every day by Medical Group Professionals. It was developed with the Hoag Medical Group, Mission Heritage Medical Group, and includes the voice of our staff and patient community. Through your participation, we will examine our self-motivation and what inspires each of us to care and educate our patients. The session will also explore the future of how our medical group will excel in our quest to be leaders in “population health” and to create a higher quality of life for our patients.

The working sessions will include simple, effective and professional communication methods that can help the patient receive the best care possible, clarify what is being done to provide for their wellbeing, and explain how we educate them to be active in managing their health.

Objectives

After completing this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Address the critical question, “What will you do?” by connecting-the-dots between the Triple Aim goals of each Heritage Medical Group, our urgent quest to be leaders in Population Health Management, and to what we do day-to-day to provide the best possible patient and family experience.  The objective is to make “what will you do?” actionable and clear.
  • Ground ourselves in self-motivation, inspiration, and compassion.
  • Introduce a common patient satisfaction mind-set utilizing the five service cycle declarations of Own It.
  • Professionally develop our skills in care and education communication in order to increase our impact on patient health, health literacy, compliance, and quality of life.
