Based on the information learned in this program, 80 percent of participants will identify at least one expected change or enhancement in their process for evaluating the risk of interrupting direct acting anticoagulants.
Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, learners will be able to:
- Identify the clinical indications, benefits, and limitations of direct acting oral anticoagulants.
- Detect factors that influence drug metabolism and select lab tests for monitoring.
- Predict the time in hours for safely stopping and restarting these drugs.
- Recommend ways to improve communication between patients and providers.
- Calculate the maximum dose of the local anesthetic Lidocaine with Epinephrine for an adult and identify signs of Lidocaine toxicity.
