Informed Consent in Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery

Description

Informed consent involves more than a patient signing a form. This On demand course provides learners with the knowledge to enact an informed consent process based on best practices. The course explains the essential elements of an effective informed consent process, and how a patient-centered approach helps patients and/or family members to fully understand and make decisions about their treatment. Attention is given to recognizing who is eligible to give consent for a minor’s treatment, and under what conditions a minor can give consent for their own treatment. Case examples are included.
