Making Sense of MACRA
Program Description
The Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) was signed into law in April 2016. While this law permanently repealed the flawed sustainable growth rate (SGR) formula, the new legislation has huge repercussions for how physicians are paid by Medicare.
Objectives
After completing this activity, learners will be able to:
- Apply recommendations how to be successful in the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS).
- Identify how to earn a five percent uplift and not be subject to MIPS by participating in Advanced APM (AAPM).
- Recognize how to avoid a four percent negative payment adjustment in 2017.
