Risk Prevention Tips for the Digital Age: E-mail, Texting, and Social Media

Program Description

Some in the healthcare community have viewed social media and electronic communication as disruptive and have been reluctant to adopt the technology.  Electronic communication is not a trend or a fad—it is a revolution that is changing the world. This recorded webinar will address the evolving risks and benefits associated with social media and electronic communication and will provide risk tips to mitigate potential liability.

Objectives

After completing this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Describe three benefits and potential risk exposures associated with social media/web 2.0.
  • Identify three HIPAA privacy issues related specifically to electronic media.
  • Describe two risk management strategies for reducing liability associated with electronic media.
